Description: This theme indicates the geographical limits of the forest concessions in which the holder has the right to harvest, the timber harvested for processing or export for a period of 25 years as provided for in Law No. 011/2002 of 29 August 2002 on Code Forest. The original cartographic data have been produced by the Directorate of Forest Inventories and Management (DIAF), the Directorate of Forest Management (DGF) with the support of the World Resources Institute (WRI) Forest concession contract. These data have been used by the WRI / CARPE Project for the production of the Interactive Forest Atlas of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Nevertheless, the limits of certain concessions are being harmonized between the administration and the loggers. This layer represents the status of the 2014 forest concession contracts.

This layer does not guarantee the full presence of all protected areas in the DRC.This table presents the protected areas from which we were able to obtain both GIS and administrative bounderies supported by official documents from the gouvernment.
