Description: This theme presents the limitations of REDD + projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which includes a range of activities aimed at modifying the dynamics of deforestation and / or forest degradation and / or increasing forest carbon stocks within A geographically defined area in order to reduce emissions and / or increase greenhouse gas removals related to these dynamics, with the aim of valuing these emissions / removals reductions in a compensation mechanism based on the result ( Fund or carbon market). Data are sourced from a variety of sources including official documents and satellite imagery. The data set is national in scope. This dataset is produced by the REDD / DRC National Coordination with the support of the Observatory of Forests of Central Africa (FOCA), and represents the status of REDD pilot projects since 2014.
